A young, early-stage start-up challenger is currently looking for a (Senior) Software Engineer to join their small team and help drive the business forward.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer with previous founding or small start-up experience to step into a pivotal position within an ambitious organisation operating in an innovative and fast-moving space.

About the Role:
You will be based in New York (minimum 3 days per week in-office) and play a key role in the development of the platform. This includes backend services, frontend experiences, and integrations with AI systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable, production-ready software across the full stack
Lead architecture decisions for core platform components
Build and optimise backend services
Develop intuitive frontend interfaces for healthcare providers
Translate complex clinical requirements into technical solutions
Maintain data models and schemas
Implement testing strategies and monitoring systems
Ideal Requirements:
Core Engineering Expertise:
5+ years’ software engineering experience
Heavily backend-focused (70/30 split), but with some frontend knowledge
Comfortable with Python, Go, Java, Node, or Typescript; frontend in React/JavaScript
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Database design and optimisation (SQL and NoSQL)
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
Architecture & Infrastructure:
API design and microservices architecture
Testing frameworks and performance optimisation
Monitoring tools such as Datadog or CloudWatch
Product & Domain Knowledge:
Experience in healthcare or regulated sectors is a strong advantage
Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data compliance
Strong product sensibility and ability to adapt in dynamic environments
Nice to Have:
Experience deploying software in healthcare settings
Open-source contributions
AI/ML integration experience
Mentorship and team leadership experience
